This man, a 22-year-old First Nations man, has spent the past three years in transitional housing after fleeing family violence, making it unsafe for him to return home. Forced to grow up quickly, he learned to navigate independent living alongside other young people who had experienced homelessness.

After leaving refuge life in 2021, he had no choice but to remain in transitional housing while waiting for his housing application to be approved a process that took three long years. During this time, he faced mental health challenges but never let them define him. Instead, he built resilience, developed new interests, and maintained part-time work.

Now, after what felt like an endless wait, He has finally received the call he never thought would come—he has collected the keys to his forever home. As he takes this life changing step, he needs support to set himself up and turn his new space into a true home.
