Young Family of 5 doing it really tough in this economy and trying to get on their feet after being homeless
Mother, father and their 3 kids (all under 5) have been homeless and living in emergency accommodation for over 18 months. Father has applied for so many jobs with no luck. Because of this, it has had a massive impact on his mental health and self esteem. He is involved in men's group and counselling but unfortunately because of their situation his mental health is really affected. He is trying to support and provide for his young family.
Mum is trying to hold everything together but most fortnights she is having to decide whether to buy extra food and stock the cupboard or put fuel in the car to get the kids around. They are really trying to get their own rental but with the waitlist for Dept of Housing and the housing crisis we are in, there is just nothing available to them that they can afford without father working. With Christmas approaching, they have nothing to get presents or food to celebrate this time of year. Anything will be a huge help.
