Community Member is trying to improve their life
We are supporting a young woman who is trying to get work and manage to navigate the increased cost of living. She is currently living on the outskirts of town, and can't get to her job provider or any potential employers workplaces as there is no public transportation in our community. She is eager to volunteer at the local community centre, to help build up her resume and get into the positive habits of work schedules, but walking to and from town has taken a toll on her. She is often overheating or it is too wet to walk safely along the highway (we live in the wet tropics of Far North Queensland). She wants to move forward in her life but her lack of transportation has limited her opportunities for self-growth and positive community contribution.
