49yo woman living in a tent that was flooded by Cyclone Alfred and later destroyed by wind, losing all belongings. With limited funds, she bought a new tent for herself, her partner, and three pets, but space is extremely limited. She has a history of domestic violence, lost her child, and struggles with mental health, including a recent panic attack. The constant rain, unsafe living conditions, and uncertain future are pushing her toward breaking point. She’s on a 3–6 year public housing wait list and currently stays in her stepfather’s backyard, despite a poor relationship and past emotional abuse that led to police involvement. His house is being demolished soon, leaving her with nowhere to go. She’s sought help from Centrelink and other services but doesn’t meet eligibility. She doesn’t qualify for shelters due to her pets or for cyclone support, as her tent isn’t considered a home. Any support we can offer her would be greatly appreciated.
