Young mother whose partner is incarcerated due to domestic and family violence
Client is 18 years old and is the mother of a three month old. Father of the baby is incarcerated due to domestic and family violence against client. client has no family support; her mother is deceased and her father has reportedly perpetrated violence against her. Aside from a history of trauma client has post-natal depression. Client has not yet received Centrelink payments for the baby as had difficulties navigating the system - social work is now assisting with this. Limited income has resulted in client going without food for herself which directly impacts the baby as she is exclusively breast feeding.
