Supporting Remote Community Event to Launch Basketball Project and Promote Wellbeing

We've been working alongside a few organizations to get the basketball courts in a very remote community refurbished, and painted with a mural designed by community members. To launch the new courts, we are holding a community engagement event - hosting a sausage sizzle, many service stalls with activities, free merch and resources. This is with the goal of promoting overall health and wellbeing. This community was severely impacted by the devastating Kimberley floods early last year and many people lost their homes and belongings, as well as family members. This community has always had limited to no access to services but after this major hardship, it has become more of a challenge. We are hoping that these basketball courts and this event will promote connection to community, family, body and mind. We also hope that people use the resources they access, and the services they are made aware of - which ultimately promote physical, emotional and social health/wellbeing.
