Elderly Homeless Woman with Disability Seeking Assistance for Beloved Dog’s Farewell
My client is an elderly woman with a disability who was deeply affected by the 2022 floods, losing her home. She and her beloved dog escaped together, first living in emergency housing before moving into temporary accommodation while we work to secure long-term housing so she can leave homelessness behind.
Sadly, her 14-year-old dog, who has been her emotional support throughout these difficult years, is now at the end of his life and needs to cross the rainbow bridge. This is an incredibly difficult time for my client, and I would love to help her give him a humane and peaceful farewell through euthanasia. She also wishes to have him cremated and receive his ashes to scatter at their favourite place—the beach—where she can say her final goodbye.
We have received a quote from the local vet for the economy package, which costs $600. It would mean my client to be able to say goodbye to her best friend into her loyal companion in a peaceful, trauma-free way.
