Mental Health Rehabilitation Consumers in Need!

The Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) supports consumers experiencing severe and enduring mental illness. The ability to maintain their mental wellbeing in community has been incredibly challenging hence the need to receive rehabilitation in a hospital (inpatient) setting. Consumers at SECU often experience significant financial hardship and homelessness. They often have co-morbid physical health concerns, cognitive deficits and/or intellectual disabilities. To bring joy to consumers they staff endeavour to offer opportunities to engage in activities such as art, games, cooking, sensory activities and exercise. Additionally, there are community outings as frequently as possible. Unfortunately, due to the public health system, there is limited funding available for these activities which is why we are requesting your help!
