Roof Repairs

K has still not been able to return to his home since floods as he does not have enough money to complete repairs

K's home was uninsured and extremely damaged in floods. He has been homeless, living in emergency housing, and is currently in a pod village over an hour from his home and work, still paying a morgage on a home he cant live in. K has been able to complete some repairs however has been unable to raise funds to fix his roof. He has a quote for $16500 (including labour) for this job to be complete and is seeking assistence to help pay for materials.
K was initiall granted a DGR to cover up to $50,000 in repairs, however he was then offered a buyback (that he could not accept because given his age and financial situation he would not have been able to re-entre the property market) when he then sought to get the DRG to commence repairs he was told he was no longer eligible because he was offered a buyback. K has fallen through the gaps of recovery support. His mental health and well being has been effected. K wants more than anything to return to his home and to get his life back
