A young couple moved to Lismore 2 weeks before the 2022 flood in Lismore
This young couple bought a house and moved to Lismore 2 weeks prior to the Lismore floods in 2022.
As they still had their previous house as their primary residence at the time of the flood they were ineligible for any government grants and are also not eligible for the Resilient Homes program.
They have been struggling along on their own with the help of friends and family to support them with their rebuild and due to not having community connections, they were unaware of the flood recovery supports available to flood affected people in the community, so have only recently reached out for help.
They have finally gotten the house to a point where it is livable and would like support with some Bunnings vouchers to complete the finishing touches and help to buy household items such as washing machine, fridge, bed and bedding and some other household goods.
