Family home lost in house fire 2023. Husband has brain tumour and unable to work causing severe financial stress
Client lives with her husband and 3 daughters on acreage of which the lost 128 during 2024 Bushfires. In 2023 they lost their home to a house fire and have since been living in a cabin, made from containers, on the property. They are waiting for insurance to start to rebuild and have been told this will not commence till after Christmas. In the meantime, consumers husband has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and is currently undergoing treatment to try to stem the growth. He is unable to work, and this has put considerable financial strain on the family. In addition to this, consumer lost her mother 18mths ago and is still grieving as she was extremely close to her. Consumer works part time while trying to keep the families head above water. She is struggling to keep things together both mentally and financially. She has never reached out for supports previously and support in the way of vouchers, will give her some breathing space.
