Underwear - mixed
Homeless shelter where homeless people come for food, clothes, showers, etc. Help vulnerable maintain hygiene.
A big challenge faced by many homeless Australians when living on the streets is maintaining personal hygiene. We provide a space to shower where a person can safely shower, shave, brush their teeth, connect with support services, and most importantly, restore dignity in their lives. We get secondhand donations of clothing but giving people new underwear is so important for dignity and feeling hygienic.
We are not for profit and our service provides showers, washing, breakfast, lunch, phone charging and other services to those in our community who are homeless. The majority of those accessing our services are Aboriginal adults and children from the Ngaanyatjarra Lands communities. We receive donations of clothes from the community but the majority of these are for women and children. Very little is donated for men. It would be great to have more clothes available for the men that come in.
