Sewing machine
Sewing machine needed for wellbeing
My client is a single older refugee who arrived 7 months ago. He attends English classes 3 times a week, however, is without social connections and activity for the rest of the time. His mental health has been affected. He used to sew in the refugee camp and made a living this way. He enjoys it very much and wants to continue sewing but is unable to now as he does not have the means to buy one.
I am seeking a donation for a sewing machine and hopefully a box of threads. He is reliant on Centrelink income and does not have much left after buying the essentials. If he is able to sew again, it would keep him occupied and help with his wellbeing. Further, he may eventually be able to make a small living providing tailoring services.
