Rosemeadow Community Health Centre

Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) is a sustained home visiting program for mothers who have young children 0-2 years. SNF works with families that are considered vulnerable, and have current mental health concerns or other psychosocial issues such as domestic violence, housing, financial and parenting concerns.

We provide Community Centre services and programs that are responsive to community needs, accessible to all, dynamic and flexible in our approaches, and provide individualised support to all in living in Rosewood and the surrounding rural areas of Ipswich.

Rosies - Friends on the Street

Rosies reaches out to those most in need, those people who are abandoned, marginalised, socially isolated within our communities.

Whilst many organisations are increasingly providing awareness, support, and referral, the greater human need is the need for friendship and unconditional acceptance during difficult times. Our wonderful Rosies volunteers aim to do just that, providing a community of belonging that is always there.

Over 95% of our work is funded through kind donations from our local community.

A dynamic, social & active club which meet at 7am on a Wednesday morning and are at their desks or the coffee house by 8.30am.
Approx 43 active members - 2/3 are females and we are always placing 'Service Above Self'.

Rotary Club of Ballina-on-Richmond

High profile Community Service Club in Ballina which has been serving the Ballina community through COVID and through the latest disastrous flooding. Since the 28th of February BOR has been working non stop in all forms of Flood Crisis assistance. Most recently the club fundraised almost $800,000 to be distributed around Ballina Shire and most recently in Broadwater township and the local rural community. Vouchers were distributed in $500 lots to flood affected residents. We are now holding Community get-togethers so that neighbours and rural communities have the opportunity to meet up for a night of fellowship with a positive speaker helping flood affected residents cope with their current difficult situation.

In terms of our demographic, we have quite a range of ages, some ‘less experienced’ young professional members, as well as several ‘more experienced’ Rotarians who have a wealth of knowledge and are really great mentors to those who are new to Rotary.

Typical annual projects include (but are not limited to): Boxing Day lunch for the homeless in Sydney, donating clothes/laundry detergent to The Station; a Sewing School for women in Nepal; scholarships for women at risk; building water wells and toilets in India; tree planting with Sydney City Rotaract; clothes collection and fundraiser for Dress for Success; four separate BBQ fundraisers; sponsoring young people to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and much more.

We work closely with families, schools, allied health professionals and local communities to connect rural and remote Australian children with the healthcare they need.

Every child is different, and so are their needs. Most children begin their Royal Far West journey with a comprehensive screening and assessment, often conducted in our Healthy Kids Bus Stop. Their experiences from that point will differ depending on the best available solution to their health and wellbeing challenges; from connecting with local services to remote Telecare services, and the specialist intensive programs available at our center in Manly.

Our relationships with the families we support continue to grow from there. We offer ongoing intervention and support via Telecare, return visits to Manly, and in some cases, in-community services tailored to the needs of each child and their family.

RFDS QLD operates 19 aircraft from nine operational bases located in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Charleville, Mount Isa, Longreach and Roma.

The RFDS's emergency retrieval service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, delivering the finest care to more than 290,000 Australians each year, that's one person every two minutes. This iconic service has expanded to provide regular transfers of patients for life-saving surgery such as organ transplants and heart surgery, delivering critical support to those who need it most.

The RFDS also delivers a broad range of essential health care services to rural and remote communities, including general practice, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, child and family health, social and emotional wellbeing, women's health and Drought Wellbeing Services.
