How GIVIT supported Victorian flood-impacted communities
UPDATED FEBRUARY 2024: Storms impacted much of Victoria, with widespread power outages, and reports of extensive damage to homes.
GIVIT is assisted communities impacted by flooding across Victoria in January 2024, and continues to assist people impacted by the devastating floods in 2022. Many communities, including Seymour, Rochester, Echuca, Shepparton and Mooroopna, have been impacted by both these flood events, and many flood-impacted locals are still living in temporary accommodation while they recover.
You can donate to help people in Victoria by funding one of the requests from the list below. Otherwise, donate to our Storms and Flooding Appeal to support recovery across Australia.
GIVIT worked with the Victorian State Government to manage donation offers during the recovery from floods and storms.
Recovery organisations requested specific items and services to help people affected by flood and storm events. As always, we reminded the community to please do not take or send unrequested items to impacted areas. We know from our work in past disasters that unrequested donations hinder recovery.
100% of publicly donated funds received by GIVIT for any appeal will be used to purchase essential items and services to help people affected by flooding, storms, cyclones, bushfires and any impacts from a natural disaster.
