To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

Stride Hub - Caboolture

Stride Mental Health - Garran

The South Canberra SUSD Facility is residential facility which provides a home-like environment to up to 6 adults aged 18 to 65 years for a period of 14 days The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. SUSD is designed for individuals whose treatment and recovery is better suited to short term (up to 14 days) intensive treatment in a rehabilitative setting. Residents will come to the Facility after being in in-patient care (Step Down) and also will be referred as an alternative to ED or in-patient settings (Step Up)

Strong Nation Community Services

Strong Nation Community Services is the community arm of Strong Nation Church. It is a not-for-profit organisation working within the Hawkesbury LGA.
Strong Nation Community provides a range of services including EAPA vouchers for electricity and gas accounts. Emergency relief hampers. SHS (Specialist Homelessness Services) supporting families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. As well as Early Years Family Support, helping families experiencing difficulties who have at least one child under 3 years of age. Strong Women Talking - Marigum Mubi Yangu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation

Strong women talking is a Domestic and Family Violence prevention program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders based in north Brisbane. we Educate, Equip and Empower women and their families through an 8-week healing journey and follow up groups. We also do a lot of community-based events to educate the wider community about domestic violence and the impacts it has. We cater food and beverages to the ladies, provide transport and support in the most culturally appropriate manner. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are over-represented in national violence statistics.

Substation 33

Substation33 is a YFS social enterprise based in the Logan suburb of Kingston. Substation33 opened its doors in January 2013 as an electronic waste recycling centre, providing a workplace where volunteers and employees gain confidence and skills for the transition to sustainable employment. Its purpose is to provide training and employment opportunities through the recycling of electronic waste.

More recently, Substation33 has started an Innovation Lab and has designed and developed a number of products for commercial, social and educational purposes. These included Flooded Road Smart Warning Signs, Electric ‘e-bikes’, 3D printers, a vertical garden monitoring system, to name just a few. These projects provide an opportunity for up-cycling and e-waste diversion from land-fill, which has environmental benefits, and skills development and transfer between professional mentors and volunteers, students and people seeking to return to the workforce, which provides social and economic benefits to the community.

Sunrise Way Rehabilitation Limited

Guided by the values of dignity, mutual respect, and personal responsibility, Toowoomba's Sunrise Way Rehab facilitates a 16 week drug and alcohol residential rehabilitation program that enables people to recover, and develop knowledge, skills and strategies to avoid relapse. Our transition house provides the second stage. For up to 6 months it provides a safe space to continue to recover, while learning life skills, volunteering, accessing study and work experience and building new community connections.

If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.

 

Financial hardship

The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.

Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.

If you or someone else’s life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000.

You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.

You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.

If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.

 

First Nations Australians

The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.

People struggling with addiction
