Kanyini Connections Ltd

Kanyini Connections Ltd is a charity dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. The main activity of the charity is operating Hoofbeats Sanctuary.

The sanctuary is a safe, restorative space – a counselling centre that brings people, animals and nature together to improve the emotional well-being of some of the most vulnerable members of our community - those living with mental health challenges resulting from complex trauma.

The sanctuary is a volunteer-based initiative with over 40 local volunteers who work extremely hard to keep the sanctuary running 365 days a year.

We offer a variety of individually tailored evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches including:
• equine therapy programs
• art therapy programs
• trauma-informed somatic movement programs
• mindfulness and mediation programs

We have a particular focus on supporting women and children who are survivors of physical and/or sexual abuse, as well as young veterans and first responders with PTSD.

We support the most vulnerable members of our community – those who fall through the gaps of welfare/healthcare systems – providing them with free equine-assisted therapy programs that they would otherwise not be able to access.
