As well as having opportunities for their children to play in a safe and supported environment, families are supported through connections with health and other services through their engagement at playgroup.

We are a not for profit, volunteer run Soup Kitchen for homeless, vulnerable, elderly, disabled, families, single and social isolated persons. We offer access to fruit, vegetables and bread plus pantry items..Dining Room operates from 12pm - 1pm with a three course meal. We have agencies like MNCLHD (health) New Horizons, Neami, Headspace, legal to provide support as necessary to the patrons

Port Douglas Community Service Network Inc

The Port Douglas Community Service Network Inc incorporates the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre, the town's only Opportunity Shop and the town's only playgroup and new parents group. The Network is committed to the social justice principles of equality, participation, empowerment, access and equity. Services are provided on a non-discriminatory basis in accordance with current legislation. We are open to all members of the local community. We assist people on low incomes and those in need of social support. The Network is open to all people regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, or sexuality.

We provide a range of centre-based and outreach programs and services to address complex issues. Services and programs includes information, referral and support; emergency relief, material aid and financial counselling; skill development and pathways to education and employment; social inclusion events and more.

Port School Young Parent Centre

The Young Parent Centre is a centre for pregnant and parenting teenage girls who have returned to school to complete their educational outcomes, as well as participate in a myriad of parenting programs to support their parenting skills, including cooking nutritional meals for themselves and their baby.

The cohort are aged up to 21 years and their baby/child attends our own specific on site Early Learning Centre, which is located next door to the Young Parent Centre. We offer training in Certificates I, II and III in the Certificate of General Education, as well as being a registered RTO, offering various other certificates such as Hospitality, Sport and Recreation and Community Services Cert II and III

Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre Inc.

We are a community development and human services' hub located on the Tweed Coast NSW. We strive to link people and strengthen communities. We provide a range of direct services, programs, social enterprises and community events. These include a Disaster Recovery Support Service, a Youth Mentoring and Work Experience Program, a Child and Family Support Service, an Assisted Referral and Material Aid Service, an Agent and Access Point, a diverse Volunteer and Work Experience Program, a Technology Centre, Community Markets and Op Shop and involvement in Kinship Festival. We have a priority focus on those who are socially and economically disadvantaged. We partner with outreach agencies in family preservation, domestic abuse, psychological assessments, mental health, law, financial counselling, and disability employment services. Our centre is accessed by Tweed Shire residents and many others from diverse backgrounds, and experiences from LGAs within the Northern Rivers Region of NSW.

The Spinal Injuries Unit provides inpatient rehabilitation to adults who have sustained a spinal cord injury which often results in a significant disability.

Prisoners Aid ACT

Prisoners Aid ACT is a secular, non-government organisation that has assisted prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families in the ACT since 1963. We have very simple aims: to increase fairness and to reduce crime. Prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families can suffer all kinds of disadvantage. Released prisoners, for example, often experience discrimination when seeking employment. The families of prisoners often experience as many difficulties as prisoners themselves. We aim to assist people overcome these disadvantages through outreach in our office in the Alexander Maconochie Centre Visitor Centre (AMC) and through direct service coordination and delivery in our office at the Magistrates Court.
PA operates at the two locations (AMC Visitors Centre and the Magistrates Court).

Project Booyah - Pine Rivers

‘Project Booyah’, which translates to an expression for ‘joy, excitement or triumph’, is a collaborative and transformative early intervention program for disconnected young people, utilizing the skills and knowledge of government, community, health, education and university sectors. The program establishes disconnected youth as a shared local concern, and coordinates government and non-government agencies as well as families, communities, and businesses to cooperatively address the individual, social and environmental factors influencing our young people.

We rely on the partnerships with government, public, and private sector organisations to achieve real change in a young person’s life. We incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and strength based principles to deliver resilience and skill development training, youth support, Numeracy and Literacy, adventure based learning principles and vocational scholarships (Certificate II in Hospitality) to support young people.

Project Independence

Persons with disabilities and in particular persons with an in intellectual disability are often dependent on the care provided by family in meeting their most basic needs. Considerable difficulties can be encountered when these care givers are no longer in a position to provide this level of care, whether through old age, financial hardship or other constraints. Project Independence is the first organisation of its kind in Australia where people with a disability, with preference given to those with an intellectual disability, will achieve ownership of a property, through ownership of a company share, whilst living in a supported, person centred environment that encourages independence through financial and personal growth. Project Independence offers a permanent stable environment for the life of the resident or it can be used as a stepping stone to independent living.

Prostate & Breast Cancer Foundation - CanCare

The Prostate & Breast Cancer Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for people with cancer. Our programs include:

* CanCare Navigation – our volunteer Navigators ‘walk beside’ a person with cancer, of any type, providing companionship and helping them get the support they need, at the time they need it most;

* Research at St George Clinical School – we support critical scientific research on cancer chemo and radio-resistance, biomarkers and the development of innovative targeted and personalised treatments.

Protea Place Women's Support Centre

Protea Place Women's Support Centre provides practical and professional support to women in need. We offer a centre based program 5 days per week that includes access to a hot lunch 3 days per week, wellness groups 2 days per week, showers, laundry, clothing, toiletries, food vouchers, case management, essential transport, mobile outreach, referrals and support 5 days per week. Our Welcome Home Project is designed to assist women by furnishing and decorating their homes once accommodation is secured.
All women over 18 are welcome at Protea Place. Protea Place is unable to cater for children in the space. Younger women will be assisted and referred to appropriate youth support services.

We provide support to many women experiencing homelessness, DFV, social isolation, mental health and substance abuse issues. We also provide social support to many older women who are housed but who are vulnerable and isolated.
