PCYC - Queanbeyan

PCYC has over 70,000 youth members who engage in sport, recreation, education, leadership, and cultural programs. PCYC also work with more than 1,500 at-risk youth per year to break the cycle of disadvantage through crime prevention, education and social responsibility programs.
Queanbeyan NSW 2620
PCYC - Southern Highlands
PCYC is unique among youth organisations because it is the only one which is a partnership between the community and the NSW Police Force.
We work with the NSW Police Force youth command work to counter the impact of juvenile offending.
Our Police youth case managers’ approach has proven results and contributes towards reducing reoffending rates by 60 to 70 per cent.
Programs have to incorporate education relevant to the crime category on which the officers are focusing. An example of that would be a break and enter program: the education component could include a presentation from insurance companies on the impact of break and enters, a presentation from a victim, and discussion on crime statistics and dealing with the volume of what’s occurring in that area to help educate young people on the impact of their actions.
Mittagong NSW 2575
PCYC - Sutherland
The NSW Police Youth Command and PCYC work together on a number of programs, namely Fit for Life which is an entry level activity using boxing, incidental education and consistent mentoring to encourage youth at-risk to connect and remain engaged with PCYC NSW club offerings in a youth friendly, physically and culturally safe environment.
The program be focuses on fitness, together with engaging local Police and the community, impacting change, positive growth and inclusion.
The Program targets young people between the ages of 10-17, identified as at-risk of or already engaging in anti-social or offending behaviours that are likely to set them onto a poor life trajectory.
We would like to create a safe place for young people by setting up a 'drop in' room with space for studying, reading, online gaming and old style gaming (we already have table tennis and air hockey).
We would like to have lounges, bean bags, pillows, rugs, study stations, reading nooks etc for the young persons to utilise in their safe place.
