To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. The Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) is a state wide program that supports people with a severe mental illness to live and recover in the community in the way that they want to. HASI is part of a suite of community-based psychosocial programs for adults called the NSW Mental Health Community Living Programs.

The Individual Recovery Support Program provides non-clinical psychosocial services to support consumers to transition back into the community upon release from a correctional facility.
The program provides one-on-one ‘wraparound’ support for up to 12 months post-release, including:
Three months of high intensity support where consumers are supported to address their highest priority needs to facilitate integration back into community.
Nine months of lower intensity support which focuses on the achievement of the individual’s medium to longer term recovery goals.

Neami Rockingham provides rehabilitation and recovery support to people experiencing mental illness who require assistance in the areas of skill development and social contact.
Our focus is primarily on individuals who are experiencing isolation in their lives because of a severe and enduring mental illness, who may benefit from social interaction. We offer both group programs and individual support.

Neami National - Sustaining Tenancies in Social Housing - Mascot
The Neami National Sustaining Tenancies in Social Housing SSESNS program launched in February 2021. We provide post-crisis wrap-around case management support to people who are living in Social Housing and are at risk of losing their tenancies. All of our clients have a history of homelessness and are at risk of returning to rough sleeping if they don't receive the support they need. The most common reasons for referral to our service include: mental health, high rental arrears, NCAT strikes, complaints from neighbours, substance use, transfer needs, hoarding and squalor. A large part of our work involves supporting people to feel comfortable and safe in their home, so we are always on the look out for donated household goods and furniture.

Established in 2006 in response to the driest period on record and what became known as the Millennium Drought, since then we have provided disaster relief in times of drought, fires and floods, year in, year out, Australia wide. We not only provide fodder, but household hampers, personal care packs, kids toys and pet supplies. And it's not just the larger farms/primary producers we support, we help farming families no matter how big or small.
In our 16th year, we take great pride in being run by 100% volunteers, with a core group on our committee and 200+ volunteers.

2018 Drought - 1,300 truckloads of fodder/supplies worth $12M
2019/2020 Black Summer bushfires - 700+ truckloads of fodder/supplies worth $6.5M
2021 NSW North Coast floods - 90 truckloads of fodder/supplies worth $835,000
2022 North Rivers floods - to date 80+ truckloads of fodder/supplies worth $798,000 with this much again being organised for delivery in June 2022.

Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire Inc
Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire Inc is a locally based NFP organisation of 40+ years standing, located on Gumbaynggirr Country and working across Bellingen Shire. Our work with community is multi-dimensional incorporating individual casework support, practical assistance for people experiencing disadvantage and in crisis as well as group activities with children, youth and their families who are vulnerable, doing it tough and/or at risk; and a community development approach that is collaborative, inclusive, locally informed and community driven. Neighbourhood Centre services in Bellingen, Urunga and Dorrigo provide information and referral to other services and support, free counselling service, crisis financial assistance with electricity and Telstra phone vouchers, and material aid - food, personal hygiene supplies and meals. Donated clothing, blankets and tents when available. Backpack beds for people who are homeless when we can afford to buy them.

NCNS provides local, flexible and responsive social support services to vulnerable communities, families and children in the Penrith LGA. Operating from 3 Neighbourhood Centres and 1 Aboriginal Family Centre - our activities such as Breakfast Clubs, Youth Activities, Aboriginal Cultural programs and child and family services such as playgroups, provide accessible connection points to the service system for families that are most at-risk. Through these high quality and engaging activities, we can develop the trust and relationship to provide more targeted services such as case management, parenting programs and home visiting services to address complex issues of mental health, drug and alcohol, domestic and family violence and child neglect and abuse. Being accessible, consistent and building trusting relationships - we are able to make positive3 interventions at key developmental points to change the life trajectory for children and young people. Our school chaplains work in 3 local schools providing individual and group programs to support child wellbeing. Our Aboriginal Family Centre - Koolyangarra - is an active centre for Aboriginal community and cultural activities. Our Casework team supports up to 60 families at any time - keeping children safe and supporting parents.

We run a free supermarket each Wednesday 12 to 2pm, where clients can decide on products that suit their household. Groceries, fruit and veg, frozen meals.

We are the lead disaster management agency for NSW, responsible for all aspects of disaster recovery and building community resilience to future disasters. We oversee and coordinate emergency management policy and service delivery with a focus on social, economic, infrastructure and natural environment outcomes.
Newborn Intensive Care Foundation
The Newborn Intensive Care Foundation was established in 1995 as a result of the very short life of Hanna Cursley – born 18 November 1993. It was created to assist in the development of the Centre for Newborn Care at Canberra Hospital. Our support covers a wide range of activities, which includes the provision of medical equipment not available through normal Government channels. In addition, the Foundation supports research and education activities so that the Unit can contribute to the global fund of knowledge of problems of the newborn. It is only through such activity that the service is able to maintain its exemplary standards in this arena. Please help the cause by making a donation.
Newcastle Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service
The Newcastle Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Services (NWDVCAS) is a locally based, independent service for women and their children seeking information and help about domestic and family violence and how to get protection from the court.
We have specialist workers to help Aboriginal women, women from multicultural backgrounds, older women and women with disabilities.
We support you during the court process. We work with you, your legal representative and the police to make sure the conditions of your AVO suit your needs.

To receive donated items, services or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with a relevant support organisation who can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request(s) on GIVIT on your behalf.

Thousands of organisations across Australia are registered with GIVIT, working across a variety of causes, hardships and demographics. Our priority is to respect and maintain the privacy, safety, dignity and independence of people reaching out for help. By connecting with a relevant support organisastion, your needs can be assessed and verified, and you can receive tailored support, which may include the organisation requesting items or services on your behalf through GIVIT.
The support organisation that is assisting you can request a range of donated items and services through GIVIT on your behalf. This may include furniture, household items, whitegoods and appliances. You can also request baby items, toiletries, toys and educational supplies, kid’s or adult’s clothing, digital devices like mobile phones or laptops.
GIVIT may also be able to help you buy groceries, fuel or medication in the form of vouchers. You can check our ‘What’s needed’ list for an idea of what can be requested through GIVIT.
Your requests may be filled through a donor donating the money needed to purchase the item new, or through a donor donating the actual item or service.
Your support organisation can also request time and skills such as tradespeople, cleaners, health and social support, tutoring and transport assistance.

We recommend you speak with the support organisation that you’re working with. They may not be registered with GIVIT, or they may not have placed your request yet.

Financial hardship
The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.
Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.

Mental health, depression or anxiety
If you or someone else’s life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000.
You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.
You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.
If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.
First Nations Australians
If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.
Children or young people experiencing hardship
Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.
People living with disability
The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.
Refugees and asylum seekers

People struggling with addiction
The National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline is a 24/7 service that provides free and confidential advice about alcohol and other drugs. You can call them on 1800 250 015.
